SEO optimization: Creating SEO friendly blog

I have already talked about the importance of SEO for online business. If you are in the industry with many online competitors getting on the first Google search page can be really hard. Good SEO optimized blog is giving you an opportunity to overtake your competitors and increase your traffic. In this article I will share few simple tips how to improve the SEO of your blog.

SEO friendly title

This is really simple trick which allow Google spiders to crawl your articles easier and increase the popularity of your blog. When you click on your article you may see the headline of your browser in this order: Name of your blog / Name of your article / Name of your browser. What we want to achieve is to place name of your article on the first place. This is very good for SEO of articles. We can do it easily like this.
1. Log in to your blogger account. Click on Layout then choose Edit HTML tab.

2. Find this line of code (use CTLR+F):



3. Now replace the line of code mentioned above for the code below:

Add meta description and keywords easily

Meta description is important tool how to attract visitors to visit your site. This is the description which appears under your link in Google search. If you don’t use meta description Google will simply choose a part from your site and use it as description. This is not very good for people who search on the Internet, they may miss what is your blog about.

Adding meta description and meta keywords is really simple:

1. Again we are going to change HTML code of blog. So log in to your blogger account. Click on Layout and choose Edit HTML.

2. Search for this part of code:



3. Immediately after this tag add following code:



THE DESCRIPTION – delete the Caps Locked text in the code above and write there short description of your blog. It should not exceed 30 words.

ALL KEYWORDS here – delete the Caps Locked text in the code above and write there all you keywords which you are using, separate them by commas.

4. Save your template.

Use image ALT tags

Another technique how to optimize your blog is using ALT tags for your images. ALT tag is alternative text used to describe your images.

Here is the way how to add them:

1. Log in to your blogger account. Click on the Edit Posts tab. Click on the Edit link next to the article where you want to add image ALT tags.
2. Now you can choose 2 views of the article, one is Compose (this is how the article will look for visitors) and there is Edit Html tab. Click this tab.
3. Find the image, it can look similar to this code



4. Now add the key words you want for this image (article) so you will have something like this



Delete the Caps Locked text and instead of it write your short description (*you dont have to use cams lock font).
